Article: The dark side of workplace happiness
Link: http://www.theguardian.com/sustainable-business/2014/jul/01/workplace-happiness-darkside-
Author:  Amy Westervelt

Comment: While the author speaks of “happiness” she mixes in “satisfaction” and “engagement” as well.  Basically, with all the news option available and being developed in relation to tracking employee moods, interactions, and productivity, the intent of the organization and how the collected information is used will be scrutinized. Short-term, one-off programs will only frustrate employees and show a lack of company commitment toward them.  Happy, satisfied, and or engaged employees are the result of on-going, well thought out initiatives.
